no effort

Making an effort is easier for you because

this is what you are accustomed to. You

have been trained in effort, and you want

to continue in that effort because this is

all you know how to do. You come to

the spiritual path and you think you

can succeed here by effort.

I am telling you not to make an effort.

For freedom you don't need to make an

effort, you just need to keep quiet. Forget

everything you have learned so far. Forget

everything that you have heard or read;

forget any advice that people or prophets

have been giving you. Forget everything

and look at your own Self. Forget

everything that has happened up to the

present moment, and then tell me, 'What

do you lack?' If you forget everything,

everything you have read, heard and

done up till this present moment,

what's left?
