Anything seen as other than Brahman-Self (Atman) is bound to cause fear and trouble. Therefore, it behoves one to stick to the single attitude that everything sensed is Brahman-Self alone. In due course even this one thought must be given up, in order to abide firmly in the free undisturbed blissful state of the sole Brahman-Self.

Dedicating the doership and the deeds
and the outcome to his divine feet
which will gain the protection of His
and which will purify the mind
which will automatically guide
and lead the way towards the freedom
And it is certain
everyday and day after day
Worshipping His divine feet
and Chanting His sweet name
Meditating on Him within
by the body, the speech and the mind
And automatically
there'll be a steady increase in all the three.

The unfortunate result of all efforts at self-improvement is that the ego creates further and deeper separation within itself, defeating its own purpose by strengthening the very source of separation and conflict that the ego itself is. Such efforts lead at best to mental frustration and at worst to total insanity.
**********************
You can neither effect nor avoid change because change is life itself, just as the flow is the river. To attempt to resist or provoke change is futile, and there is no other way but to realize it. The inexorable flow of causation is not to be influenced by a mere shadow of its own expression, which is all that a human being is.

The Witness is Omnipresent and is existence itself.
=================================
Around 400 years ago, there was quarrel in the streets of Varanasi. Two men who were quarrelling, were arrested and brought before the magistrate in the court. Each one of the men claimed that the other had attacked him first. So the magistrate called for a witness who had seen the fight.
There was only one witness and he was known to be a sage. When he was asked to explain what he had seen, he replied,
"He who sees, speaks not and he who speaks, sees not."
Do you understand the meaning?
The eyes have seen the fight, but the eyes cannot speak. It is the mouth that speaks, but the mouth cannot see anything. Therefore, what could be said?
This witness was Kabir and he was speaking the truth about witnessing.
The Witness sees nothing,
so He has nothing to say.
Yet,
everybody speaks of the Self and of ultimate Reality.
The saints and scriptures speak of this. They all say:
"You are Reality.
You are the Self.
You are being-consciousness-bliss.
You are the Source."
And your ears have listened to all this very well.
But who witnesses all these concepts?
No one knows that Witness who resides in everyone's Heart.
To whom do we attribute all individual activity?
You say,
"I did it" or "I saw it."
But who is this "I"?
When you say "I", something is conscious of this "I".
The Witness of "I" is not the "I".
So,
who is this Witness that is conscious of the first thought, the "I"-thought?
The Witness is not something you can see or describe.
People say that they understand that they are the Witness, but they do not truly understand that the Witness is also witnessing this so-called understanding.
The Witness is Omnipresent and is existence itself.
It is within everyone's Heart,
and even within each and every atom.
It is existence itself and It is always available here and now.
However you may try to understand It, you will fail. The Witness can only witness Itself with the Grace of the Guru.
When the Guru is happy with a disciple, he will hand him the key to this treasure.

TALK 625
The Self is always realised. There is no seeking to realise what is already - always - realised. For you cannot deny your own existence. That existence is consciousness - the Self.Unless you exist you cannot ask questions. So you must admit your own existence. That existence is the Self. It is already realised. Therefore the effort to realise results only in your realising your present mistake - that you have not realised your Self. There is no fresh realisation. The Self becomes revealed.
Devotee: That will take some years.
Maharshi: Why years? The idea of time is only in your mind. It is not in the Self. There is no time for the Self. Time arises as an idea after the ego arises. But you are the Self beyond time and space; you exist even in the absence of time and space.

Maharaj: Beingness has the quality to become whatever you think of.
Whatever concept you feed to the consciousness,
the consciousness will provide you with that.
Whatever you hold on to intensely,
you are bound to be that,
that is the quality of your consciousness.
You should never think that you are the body.
Consciousness is not the body.
As a result of the body the beingness is felt, but beingness is all-pervasive.
Consciousness alone feels the expanse of consciousness,
but I, the Absolute, am not that.
Whatever is known is known by consciousness, is in the field of consciousness.
The consciousness and the knowledge will subside when the food body dies.
The Absolute always remains.
The seed of knowledge is planted in you by these talks;
now you have to follow it up.
You must nurse it,
ruminate over it,
so that the tree of knowledge will grow.

Do not judge by appearances.
Do not even judge yourself.
You are a beautiful person just the way you are.
When I say “just the way you are,"
I am referring to your real self, consciousness.
You are beautiful just the way you are,
not what you think you are,
not what you appear to be,
not what the world shows you,
but just the way you are right now.
When you are without thoughts,
when you are without needs,
without wants,
without desires,
then you are God.
You are the universe.
You are divine love.
You are beautiful.
Yet when you begin to think about these things you deny it,
for you think about the past and the future instead of staying centered in the eternal now.
You think of the mistakes you made in life. You think about the dastardly things going on in this world.
You think about your future, about the
so called recession.
You are enmeshed in maya.
Do not continue to think this way.
Your true nature is total bliss,
and you are in total bliss right now.
There is absolutely nothing lacking in your life.
But when you think about it, there is. Therefore do not think.
Stop thinking.
When you stop thinking all is well.
When you stop thinking there are no mistakes.
Do not concern yourself with the telephone, with your body,
with your affairs,
what appears to be happening in the world. These things shall pass and new things will come along.
It never ends.
It never stops.
Thoughts can never bring you peace,
even if they are good thoughts,
for good thoughts lead to bad thoughts,
and bad thoughts lead to good thoughts. You are to ask yourself
“To whom do these thoughts come?
Who thinks?
Who is the thinker?
I am?
I am the thinker?
Then who am I?
What is the source of the I that thinks? Where did this I come from?
How did it originate?
Who gave it birth?
What have I got to do with I?"
Wake up.
You are an asset to the human race, an asset to your self, an asset to God.
You are a wonderful person just
the way you are,
just the way you are.
