True love has nothing to do with liking someone, agreeing with him or her, or being compatible. It is a love of unity, a love of seeing God wearing all the masks and recognizing itself in them all.

Without it, Truth becomes an abstraction that is sort of cool and analytical, and that is not the real Truth. The Truth exposes itself in the willingness to open to this intimate connectedness with everything.

Whether the personality likes it or not, an intimate connection is there. Sometimes it will rush to the fore and make itself known in a very obvious way. Sometimes it will burn in the background like embers, just there for everything.

With this love, you can feel the walls of opposition come down naturally in the acknowledgement of a deep connection. Not only do the walls of opposition fall, but love is felt for every human being and for life itself.

quotes

"The Highest Form of Grace is Silence (mowna). It is also the highest upadesa (instruction)." In Talk 518 (Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi). Silence and Grace are frequent topics that occur in devotee conversations with Bhagavan.

TO REMAIN AS YOU ARE

D: What is the use of samadhi and does thought subsist
then?

M: Samadhi alone can reveal the Truth. Thoughts cast
a veil over Reality, and so It is not realized as such in
states other than samadhi.

In samadhi there is only the feeling ‘I AM’ and no
thoughts. The experience ‘I AM’ is being still.

D: How can I repeat the experience of samadhi or the
stillness that I obtain here?

M: Your present experience is due to the influence of the
atmosphere in which you find yourself. Can you have
it outside this atmosphere? The experience is spasmodic.
Until it becomes permanent, practice is necessary.

D: One has at times vivid flashes of a consciousness
whose center is outside the normal self, and which
seems to be all-inclusive. Without concerning
ourselves with philosophical concepts, how would
Bhagavan advise me to work towards getting,
retaining and extending those rare flashes? Does
abhyasa in such experience involve retirement?

M: Outside! For whom is the inside or outside? These
can exist only so long as there are the subject and
object. For whom are these two again? On
investigation, you will find that they resolve into the
subject only. See who is the subject, and this inquiry
leads you to pure Consciousness beyond the subject.
The normal self is the mind. This mind is with
limitations. But pure Consciousness is beyond
limitations and is reached by the investigation as above
outlined.

Getting: The Self is always there. You have only to remove
the veil obstructing the revelation of the Self.

Retaining: Once you realize the Self, it becomes your direct
and immediate experience. It is never lost.

Extending: There is no extending of the Self, for it is as
ever, without contraction or expansion.

Retirement: Abiding in the Self is solitude. Because there
is nothing alien to the Self. Retirement must be
from some one place or state to another. There is
neither the one nor the other apart from the Self. All
being the Self, retirement is impossible and
inconceivable.

Abhyasa is only the prevention of disturbance to the
inherent peace. You are always in your natural State
whether you do abhyasa or not... To remain as you
are, without question or doubt, is your natural State.

From Maharshi’s Gospel

6

If you have found something that is priceless to you, surely you will honour it. If you have fallen in love, I don't think you will require anyone to remind you to remember your beloved. As you give some attention to be conscious with what you have discovered, not to tell yourself things about it, but just to stay and confirm and as I said, the best way is to listen, to read again, to watch a recording of this evening's talks. You'll find a growing, an emerging, a deepening conviction of your understanding. The flavour, the perfume of what you are seeing will begin to emanate as openness, as fearlessness and natural trust, a  conceptual flexibility, a joy, a peace, an emerging widening of the capacity to love, a lessening capacity of the tendency to judge. All of these things they come, come in naturally. All good and noble qualities manifest spontaneously in the awakened heart. It's not that you have to go and develop, develop, develop.  They are already one with consciousness you will discover more and more. This is my joy; that I am not imparting to you a hardship but a wonderful discovery. It is not for or against  anyone. In a sense I say, often to those who come to satsang, "You must become like the cow that jumped over the moon." meaning, it didn't go through  the moon  to push it closer to the sun. It means that somehow it bypassed the conceptual forest of personhood. It avoided the traps of the personal seeker and re-entered its own source. And the commitment I speak of is not a commitment to me particularly, but just to honour that which I put as the most important discovery in the human kingdom for a human being. Continue to just look and to confirm what you are seeing. Its not a rebelliousness. Its not a giving up on life, in fact, it is life affirming but, it is True Life. This I would encourage, that this flourishes inside your own heart and that it spreads through you. This joy and peace and openness and love. So, please as of this moment move in the spirit of this discovery as much as Grace allows you.

Q: When will the suffering cease?

Not until individuality is lost. If both the good and bad actions are his, why should you think that the enjoyment and suffering are yours alone? He who does good or bad, also enjoys pleasure or suffers pain. Leave it there and do not superimpose suffering on yourself.

quotes 2

Sri Mooji
Start today

No one has the power to make you unhappy or miserable. Mainly, we do this by ourselves. Happiness is our real nature. Sadness comes mostly through habit and through identification with the personal self. We can be happy every moment but mostly, due to habit, we choose to focus on what makes us unhappy and so lose or hide our natural joy.

Develop the excellent attitude of gratitude to all of existence. Overlook petty thoughts, worries and troubles, the bitter and the sweet. Instantly, you will begin feeling uplifted in your spirit and in a short time you will begin seeing life through brighter, wiser and more loving eyes.  Start today.

quotes 1

People want a God...
Not godliness;
They are not interested in godliness...
There is a quality of godliness in existence,
but there is no God....

quotes 8

There is a love that doesn't require
to know something about you first.
It has no condition, has no requirement.
I don't need to know if you have some
special talent before I will except to love you.

The very fact that you Are,
and you are the Being,
is already known
that you are That
and That loves Itself.

This is the real love.

Not a love that is about something,
"I love you because you are so beautiful",
"I love you because you give something to me",
"I love you because I see what you do",...

There is a love that is there
that doesn't require any condition,
it doesn't require background,
because it knows and recognizes you
as Love itself.
