ADVICE ON SADHANA

Only the aspiration towards the fair firmament of supreme consciousness, which has no final goal other than mauna, is most worthy endeavor.

Grace will not combine with a bat-like mentality. Stick with
intensity to one [path].

- Bats nibble at one fruit and fly away, looking for another fruit to nibble at. They never stay long enough in one place to finish a single fruit. -

All meditation practices are the means that enable the attainment of the strength of mind that is necessary for Atmanishta.

Your Heart is light of this world. Dont cover it with your mind.  #Mooji

1

Don't challenge yourself to be brave or fearless,
challenge yourself to be open and to trust in the higher Self,
challenge yourself to remain inwardly still
and centered inside your own Being.

~ Mooji

empty

 My most auspicious advice:
Remain empty.
Leave all that personal mind-stuff aside.
Stay as impersonal Awareness alone.
This is the highest way and choice.
Accept and follow this advice with all your heart.
You will find it sufficient to win you freedom.

real

The real is as it is, ever.
How to realize it?
All that is required is this: We have realized the unreal, i.e., regarded as Real what
is unreal. We have to give up this attitude. That is all that is required for us to attain Jnana.
We are not creating anything new or achieving something which we did not have before.

The illustration given in the books is this: We dig a well and create a huge pit. The akasa (space) in the pit or well has not
been created by us. We have just removed the earth which was filling the akasa there. The akasa was there, then, and is also there now.
Similarly we have simply to throw out all the age-long samskaras (innate tendencies) which are inside us.
When all of them have been given up, the Self will shine alone.

Om Namah Shivaya 💛

Surrender everything at the feet of God. What else can you do? Give Him the power of attorney. Let Him do whatever He thinks best.

THE EGOLESS STATE

THE EGOLESS STATE

A question was asked about the origin of ignorance.

“How can the State of Deliverance be harmonised with the world?”

The Sage answered: “That harmony is in Deliverance itself.” The Sage who is in that State is not aware of any disharmony; on the contrary there is perfect harmony there, because the Self alone is there — worldless. But the intellect cannot know that harmony, because it can never get there — because, if it gets there, it will cease to be. This is the meaning of the statement, many times reiterated in the ancient lore, that the State of Deliverance — that is, the real Self that is in that State — is beyond the intellect. As this State is beyond the intellect, so it is also beyond speech. Attempts to give a faithful description of the State in words are bound to fail.

nothing

Moods are in the mind and do not matter. Go within, go beyond.

Cease being fascinated by the content of your consciousness. When you reach the deep layers of your true being, you will find that the mind's surface play affects you
very little.

Your true home is in nothingness, in emptiness of all content.

Abandon every attempt,
just be;
don't strive,
don't struggle,
let go every support, hold on to the blind sense of being, brushing off all else.
This is enough.

- The Nisargadatta Path

self

The Self is always there. It is you. There is nothing but you.
Nothing can be apart from you.

arrogance

Arrogance is the most prevalent state of disgrace in the human world.
As soon as we feel some inner opening, we begin strutting about like some pigeon.
As soon as we receive some insights, we start thinking we are something special,
whereas the truth is we are Nothing.

consciousness

As and when thoughts occur,
they should,
one and all,
be annihilated then and there,
at the very place of their origin,
by the method of enquiry in quest of the Self.

seat of consciousness heart

D.: Sri Bhagavan speaks of the Heart as the seat of Consciousness and as identical with the Self. What exactly does the word ‘Heart’ signify?
B.: The question about the Heart arises because you are interested in seeking the source of Consciousness. To all deep thinking minds, the enquiry about the ‘I’ and its nature has an irresistible fascination. Call it by any name, God, Self, the Heart or the seat of Consciousness, it is all the same. The point to be grasped is this: that Heart means the very core of one’s being, the centre without which there is nothing whatever.

just be no worry

There Are No Mistakes
Most people are home watching the presidential debates. We ought to have Jnani debates, where all the Jnanis in the
world show up. Whoever shows up loses, of course. (laughter)
If only people understood the first principle of Self-realization, which is simply this. Whatever is destined to happen is
going to happen, no matter how you try to stop it. And whatever is destined not to happen will never happen, no matter
how much you try to make it happen. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the politicians understood this truth? There would be
absolutely nothing to worry about, nothing to fear, nothing to conquer, nothing to win, nothing to lose. Everything is
unfolding the way it should. Everything is in its right place. There are no mistakes. Everything is lovely and beautiful just
the way it is.
If you can only understand this in your own personal life. What you're supposed to go through in this experience, in
this in carnation, has already been planned for you before you came into this body. Yet you have absolutely nothing to do
with it, because you are not the body. As long as you think you are a body, you think you're somebody, somebody
important. Or you think you are a failure, whatever you think about yourself. If you would only turn within and see the
one Self, then you would never worry about what is going to happen to you at all. For you would realize, there is no you
for anything to happen to. You are total freedom right now, total liberation, complete Awareness. Yet, you do not believe
me. You still feel inclined to be a body, a doer. Think of the experiences you went through today, and see if you do not
believe that you are a doer. How many times did you become angry today? How many times did you feel slighted today?
How many times did you feel fear, or something is wrong somewhere, or you're not in your right place? This shows you
that you believe that you are a body. And as long as you believe that you are a body, why not just let go and stop fretting
and worrying about your body.
The Power that knows the way will take care of you. The One who makes the sun shine, the grass grow, the apples
grow perfectly on apple trees. The food that sustains us, nourishes us, everything has been lovingly provided for us.
Have faith.
Trust the Power that knows the way. This is a first step. To have total faith and total trust in the Infinite, the One. You
may call this God if you want to. Makes no difference what you call it. It is within you. It is without you. It is everywhere.

moment

Look at this very Moment.
This Moment is your true face.

In this Moment there is no past or future.
In this Moment see what is eternal.

In this Moment what effort can you possibly make in order to be in this Moment.

💕H.W.L. Poonjaji (Papaji)

keep quite

When you meditate,
the ego rises
and you become the meditator.

In this process,
you objectify Reality,
which is actually who YOU truly are.

So the best meditation is
to simply keep quiet here.
Don't follow any thought
and don't activate the mind.
This is true meditation.

Knowing that you are meditating
is not true meditation.

When you keep quiet here,
there is no meditator.

There is nothing to achieve in the future,
because everything is already here.
The meditator rises from here.

When you keep quiet that is no meditator,
no meditation and no object of meditation.

This is Existence-Consciousness-Bliss Itself.
It is in this instant, in this space,
It is who you are, desireless, Perfect Self.

In the twinkling of an eye you are free!

jnani

Q: Is a jnani capable of or likely to commit sins?

A: An ajnani sees someone as a jnani and identifies him with the  body. Because he does not know the Self and mistakes his body for  the Self, he extends the same mistake to the state of the jnani. The
jnani is therefore considered to be the physical frame.
Again since the ajnani, though he is not the doer, imagines himself  to be the doer and considers the actions of the body his own, he  thinks the jnani to be similarly acting when the body is active. But  the jnani himself knows the truth and is not confounded. The state of a jnani cannot be determined by the ajnani and therefore the question troubles only the ajnani and never arises for the jnani. If he is a doer he must determine the nature of the actions. The Self cannot be the doer. Find out who is the doer and the Self is revealed.

Q: So it amounts to this. To see a jnani is not to understand him. You see the jnani's body and not his jnana. One must therefore be a jnani to know a jnani.

A: The jnani sees no one as an ajnani. All are only jnanis in his sight. In the ignorant state one superimposes one's ignorance on a  jnani and mistakes him for a doer. In the state of jnana, the jnani sees nothing separate from the Self. The Self is all shining and only pure jnana. So there is no ajnana in his sight. There is an illustration
for this kind of illusion or superimposition.

Two friends went to sleep side by side. One of them dreamt that both of them had gone
on a long journey and that they had had strange experiences. On waking up he recapitulated them and asked his friend if it was not so.
The other one simply ridiculed him saying that it was only his dream and could not affect the other.
So it is with the ajnani who superimposes his illusory ideas on
others.

liberation

If you are a true seeker of liberation you’ve got to be willing to stand alone. At the moment of Liberation everything falls away…everything. Suddenly the ground beneath your feet is gone, and you are alone. You are alone because you have directly realized that there is no other, there is no separation. There is only you, only Self, only limitless emptiness, pure consciousness.

To the mind, the ego, this appears terrifying. When the mind looks at limitlessness and infinity, it projects meaninglessness and despair. To the ego Absolute Freedom can look terrifying. But when the mind is let go of, the view changes from meaningless despair and fear to the unending joy and wonder of Liberation.

In Liberation, you stand alone. You stand alone because you need no supports of any kind. You need no supports because you have realized that the very notion of a separate you no longer exists; that there is nothing to support; that the whole ego experience was a flimsy illusion. So you stand alone but never, never lonely because everywhere you look, all you see is That, and You are That.
