Self

'What is the nature of the Self?'

What exists in truth is the Self alone. The world, the individual soul, and God are appearances in it. like silver in mother-of-pearl, these three appear at the same time, and disappear at the same time. The Self is that where there is absolutely no “I” thought. That is called “Silence”. The Self itself is the world; the Self itself is “I”; the Self itself is God; all is Siva, the Self.

...Most Important Question In The Human Kingdom...
Mooji Rishikesh 2017

You are going to discover the unchanging within the changing... The stillness within the movement... You will know both... Whatever you see, whatever you have tasted, whatever you remember...

...All this comes and goes...

That which observes the outside world, of the coming together of the five elements, the world of changes, of other-ness, of thing-fullness...
And the world behind the eyes, of the feelings, emotions and sensations, thought, memory, imagination, this also is observed... Where is this observer? Where is the location of that which observes inside and outside simultaneously? Just allow the question to be asked for a moment...

That which is perceiving everything else, can that be perceived?
This is my question...

If you have come to THIS question, you have come to the most important question in the human kingdom... Can the perceiver of all that is perceivable... can the perceiver be perceived? Is there a perceiver as an entity?
Can it be looked at?
Can it be studied?...

Enquiry

Come to this most direct path of inquiry
to be cured from the delusion of ego,
not to be patched up or upgraded.
Some beings are busy peeling off layers
of an ego-person which doesn’t actually exist.
Others dissolve fully into the Infinite
…and are never seen again as person...but as He.

Liberation

From ~~~ Letters from Sri Ramanasramam, 144.

Bhagavan:

Peace being experienced now and then,
it must be admitted that there is a thing called peace.

Moreover,
those feelings called desires are also of the mind,
and if desires were banished,
there would be no wavering of the mind;
and if there is no wavering,
that which remains is peace.

To attain that which is always there
requires no effort.
Effort is required only
for the banishing of all desires.

As and when the mind wavers,
it must be diverted from those matters.

If that is done, peace remains as it is.

That is Atma, the Self,
that is Liberation
and that is Self.

Consciousness

Papaji Says:  "Where the first thought has left and the other is not arisen, that is Consciousness, that is Freedom, that is your own place, your own abode. You are always there, you see."

Self

Sri Ramana Maharshi: ~~~ Talk 98.

M.:
The Self is the Heart.
The Heart is selfluminous.

Light arises from the Heart and reaches the brain,
which is the seat of the mind.

The world is seen with the mind, that is,
by the reflected light of the Self.
It is perceived with the aid of the mind.

When the mind is illumined it is aware of the world.
When it is not itself so illumined,
it is not aware of the world.

If the mind is turned in towards the source of light,
objective knowledge ceases and Self alone shines forth as the Heart.

The moon shines by the reflected light of the sun.
When the sun has set,
the moon is useful for revealing objects.

When the sun has risen,
no one needs the moon,
although the pale disc of the moon is visible in the sky.

So it is with the mind and the Heart.

The mind is useful because of its reflected light.
It is used for seeing objects.

When it is turned inwards,
the source of illumination shines forth by itself,
and the mind remains dim and useless
like the moon in day-time.

Eternal

What passes away is not Eternal.
Every form will pass away, and the Essence is formless.
If you are attached to the form you are making a mistake.
It is not the form which gives you light,
but something else which is deep inside your own Heart.
That is your Guru.
That Guru abides in the heart of all Beings,
not only human beings, but all the animals and plants.
You will see this when you see your own Essence within.
Then every plant and animal will speak to you as they speak to me.
